Non-Profit Information
The Classical Stock Seat School of Arizona (C.S.S.S.A.) became a 501 C-3, non-profit (Tax ID #20-0140244) riding school in 2006, which allows The School to offer higher quality programs to its full time instructors in training, help with scholarships, and offer complete programs for beginner and novice riders.

Our mission is to preserve the true classical and humane principles of horsemanship, which was handed down through the centuries from the time of Xenophon. To maintain the programs, systems and school of thought of riding instruction and the training of the horse, using the 'Basic Handle' brought to us by Monte Foreman and Ron McLoughlin. Doing this all through humane, quality instruction of horse and rider, allowing the average horse owner to receive honest, excellent instruction for a fair price.

Within a 10 year span, we would like the Classical Stock Seat School of Arizona to be fully operational. We would like to have all of the instructional programs up and running, and to have produced quality riding instructors that can teach our 'Basic Handle' system. We envision to have truly set the foundation for maintaining the Foreman/McLoughlin system of humane horse handling for years to come, as set forth in the 'mission statement', and be offering the equine world a quality choice!

The purpose of the foundation (501 C-3) is to train equine instructors and trainers in a humane and efficient way, passing on the foundation of the Foreman-McLoughlin horse-handling system". Also, to supply scholarships to student instructors. The cost of an equine school, the maintaining of school horses to train students, exceeds what most students can handle. Our plan is to make it as reasonable as possible for long-term students, whenever funds are available.
The purpose of the school is to prepare individuals to be competent, versatile, honest and progressive professionals in the horse industry. In the fields of instructing and training horses, we teach the amateur and professional, to ride and handle horses better, with emphasis on stable management. We are dedicated to preserving the Foreman/McLoughlin system of humane horse handling, and the art of classical horsemanship.
