Long-Term Programs

C.S.S.S.A. offers two different Long-Term Programs including the Long-Term Instructors Program and Long-Term Student Rider Program.

Long-Term Instructors Program

Our Long-Term Instructors program is a 6-10 year program. The first 3 years focus on riding and equine training skills. The next to 3-7 years continue with riding and training skills while implementing instruction skills, interacting with riding students, matching riders with horses, develop motivation in riders.

This program is designed for students that want to become a riding instructor, while improving their riding and horse knowledge.


Students will be exposed to all aspects of horse handling and the horse industry.  Long days of grooming, ring work, reading, studying horse handling theory, mounted instruction, working horses on your own, saddling and unsaddling, the principles of quality tack, watching educational videos, and videos of yourself. You will get the chance to ride horses of various levels of training daily. As time goes on, student instructing public speaking, vet care, and barn management.

 

C.S.S.S.A. focuses on the Classical Stock Seat; riding as an art form where the main goal is a happier and healthier horse.  Classical training develops strength, balance, mental stability, and longevity of the horse’s life, resulting in true harmony with rider and horse.  Students spend time developing a good deep, independent classical seat.​

Current tuition is priced at $24,000 per year.

Student scholarship available up to 50%.

Long-Term Student Rider Program

Our Long-Term Student Rider program is offered in 6 month increments. This is a live-in, full-time horse handling program at C.S.S.S.A. This program is a working-ranch style happening, offered with our bunk house accommodation.

 

This program is designed for students to take their riding to the next level as it provides an even more focused approach with an interest in becoming a better amateur rider, non-pro or with the potential of becoming professionals. 


Students will be exposed to all aspects of horse handling.  Long days of grooming, ring work, trail riding if applicable, reading, studying horse handling theory, mounted instruction, working horses on your own, saddling and unsaddling, watching educational videos, and videos of yourself.  You will get the chance to ride horses of various levels of training daily. The rider will develop a deep seat by being lounged with no reins or stirrups 

 

C.S.S.S.A. focuses on the Classical Stock Seat; riding as an art form where the main goal is a happier and healthier horse.  Classical training develops strength, balance, mental stability, and longevity of the horse’s life, resulting in true harmony with rider and horse.  Students spend time developing a good classical seat, and then move on to roll-aways, stops, lead changes, side-passes, etc.

This program is similar to Short-Term Resident Schools, but to the next level as you will spend more time working on feel, and with various horses to excel your riding and equine knowledge.

 

Current tuition is priced at $24,000 per year.
